How is CCS Different?

We are NOT a staffing agency

Can I afford to offer Continuous Care?

Helping you help others

Example of how it works

Questions?

Comparing us to
Staffing Agencies
is Like Comparing...

Everyone knows   .you can’t .compare  apples .and oranges.

Both are tasty – and good for you. But   they’re different... like comparing us to regular staffing agencies…agencies that can be useful… but expensive, and not capable or qualified to take the time to orient their field staff in the highly specialized field of Hospice care, or invest the extra effort to keep you compliant.

Continuous Care Solutions does
all this for you.

Our vision is to help you make your Continuous Care program grow, which will make your hospice grow. We can do that because we are a SPECIALIZED HOSPICE SERVICE, not a traditional staffing agency.

Of the four primary forms of Medicare hospice, none are more challenging or frustrating than Continuous Care.

In order for you to offer Continuous Care to all patients who need  and qualify for it, you must have a large staff of caregivers on hand to meet your peak times.

But when those inevitable dips in your census happen, you lose some of those valuable staff members Then you are at risk of not being able to provide around the clock care to those whom you offered it … the patients and families who desperately need it.

You consider a staffing agency, but at the rates many of them charge, you may lose money, especially if that patient stays on care a long time with that agency.

Besides, does this agency train for hospice care?

Will they keep you compliant?

Continuous Care Solutions offers the solution to all this.

CAN I AFFORD TO OFFER CONTINUOUS CARE?

CAN I AFFORD
NOT TO?

You have a responsibility to
keep costs down.

You want to provide the best patient care possible.

It is often difficult to do both.

As an Administrator, Director, or owner of a hospice, you may have been reluctant to use outside resources to help with your Continuous Care program.

You may worry that it is against the regulations to use outside resources in hospice.

You may even have a policy that states that your Hospice may use NO OUTSIDE AGENCY at all.

That would be understandable considering the costs of most traditional staffing agencies, coupled with the fact that the vast majority of them do not provide the quality care you desire and the training specific to your hospice necessary to keep you in compliance with Medicare regulations.

CONTINUOUS CARE SOLUTIONS
is just what our name says:

A SOLUTION

To your continuous care staffing problems.

HELPING YOU HELP OTHERS

Census = 100
Routine Care = 95
General In Patient = 3
Respite = 0

How many does this leave for Continuous Care?

That’s not enough.

As an administrator, I found that I could literally document almost all of my patients as appropriate for continuous care.

That would never be ethical.

However, whenever I looked closely at my census, or allowed my staff to offer the program, I saw that at considerable portion of my census was most likely appropriate.

Still, I could not fully justify that many.

So, how many would truly benefit from the program in the way it was intended?

That changed every day, but at least ten percent of my census on any given day (if we offered the option with appropriate education as to its proper use) needed to be on continuous care.

Every day people die in a hospital bed, when they really want to be in their own home.

CCS not only offers the solution, but our generous rates even allow the host hospice to still make a net profit.......MORE than from routine care, general inpatient (GIP), or respite.

Nobody ever has to be denied this wonderful service again.

Apples and Oranges

We are not a staffing agency,

We are a highly specialized service.

How is CCS different?

Traditional staffing agencies:

Work a hospital or nursing home floor yesterday and your hospice patient today.

May or may not be trained in hospice, much less continuous care.

Are not likely to be able to provide all the necessary personnel documentation. (Hep B, TB, criminal history checks, etc…).

Will often charge more than the hospice is reimbursed. A guaranteed loss!!

Are even less likely to know or understand hospice regulations, and general policies and procedures.

Continuous Care Solutions only works hospice.

CCS recruits, screens, trains, and provides highly specialized staff specifically for continuous care.

Our Hospices helped develop our training curriculum, and they say that it is the best and most complete they have seen.

We keep you in compliance with OSHA, CMS (HCFA), and all applicable state regulations.

We Provide 24 hour on call with on duty Clinical Coordinator .

We are NOT
a staffing agency!

CCS = Hospice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

CCS recruits, screens, trains, and provides highly specialized staff specifically for continuous care. Our screening involves “critical thinking” where we assess an applicant’s cognitive skills in various situations specific to the continuous care environment.

We collect all the necessary personnel criteria to keep you in compliance with OSHA, CMS (HCFA), the Department of Health, and Palmetto, up to and including JCAHO standards!!!

We have the hospice management and experience to do so.

We invite our hospices to read our orientation manual and to make necessary additions in order to represent them in the manner they need us to. All requests are then added to the manual for future reference.

Our staff is then extensively trained in YOUR policies and procedures, and in the differences between curative and palliative care. Many scenarios they will never see in any other part of the medical field are discussed in great detail.

We are NOT a registry. Not everyone who comes in the door gets to work with us.

We employ a 24 hour clinical coordinator with EXTENSIVE experience in continuous care for on call assistance to our field staff.

We guarantee you will make more money (necessary for you to stay in business) than you would leaving your patient on routine care – with a fifty-fifty mix of CNA and LVN.

Example: (will vary
slightly with each area’s reimbursement rates
)

Hospice Reimbursement: (Based on 2006 Dallas area Medicare reimbursement)

Routine Care
reimbursement:
      $132.36

Continuous Care reimbursement:        $772.50

Cost of contracting CCS:                         $534.00

(12 hrs. CNA/12 hrs. LVN Continuous Care)

Net profit using CCS:                                 $106.14

$46 more than routine care.

And the patient gets the care they need. EVERYONE WINS
